Barcelona 05

Posted by theSubtleSensor (Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom) on 11 May 2010 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This set of pictures was taken whilst I was holidaying in Barcelona in Feb 2009 (yes, I am that far behind with my image editing!) and I am starting with a study of the Torre Agbar designed by French architect Jean Nouvel and owned by the Barcelona water company Aigües de Barcelona.

I'm not really postimg much on here these days. I only intend to post my personal projects or experimental work as this is what I need feedback on - so please do leave a constructive comment or a star rating.

These days I post more regularly to the blog on my website, so skate on over there to see what I've been up to recently: Freelance Photographer in Newcastle upon Tyne | Subtle Sensor Photography

@Alun: Cheers mate.

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

Another superb shot, all your pics so far are the best I've seen of this building.

@Phil David Alexander Morris: Wow! Thankyou for such a nice compliment. And here I was worrying people would be bored.

ℳarleen from Doesburg, Netherlands

Great shot! Torre Agbar is a challenging building to capture and your series of it are superb!
( I took one at night...;-))

@ℳarleen: Thank you kindly, that is nice to hear! I am jealous of your night shot - I didn't plan correctly and was there on the wrong night =D( Still, good excuse to go back!

MadScientist from Düsseldorf, Germany

Though the architecture isn't very exciting I really like its subtle colours, a very pleasing sight.

@MadScientist: Yes, its a bit of a one trick pony this building (except it has another trick on weekend evenings) hence all the crazy angles. While I was waiting for the evening lights I challenged myself to try and come up with some interesting shots of what is essentially jusyt a big.... cucumber. I was pleasantly surprised to find the subtle colours it has in daylight.

Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United States

Fabulous, Dan - best of the series in my view. I like the elements above and below causing my eye to dance.

11 May 2010 4:22pm

@Stephen Phillips: Yes, I think this one is the strongest too, thanks. It was taken from the entrance toan underground carpark nearby; thats how I managed to make a sandwich of this cucumber =D) I have one more left to show you but I think this one is best, so I probably should have saved it til last.

Krunal from Mumbai, India

of course Daniel, every time you capture this monument you make it look great, lovely series so far.

@Krunal: *blushes* Thank you!

@Laurent: Thank you Laurent. This one is my favourite too =D)

BlogPhoto from Paris, France

Excellent tower with strange red paint. It seems to be terrible at the sunset!
