Missing The Summer 1

Posted by
theSubtleSensor (Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom) on 17 March 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

In contrast to the last four images I thought I'd post these two from last summer. I really miss sunny days, blue skies and white, fluffy clouds!

SIGMA SD10 1/500 second F/5.6 ISO 100 70 mm

I'm not really postimg much on here these days. I only intend to post my personal projects or experimental work as this is what I need feedback on - so please do leave a constructive comment or a star rating.

These days I post more regularly to the blog on my website, so skate on over there to see what I've been up to recently: Freelance Photographer in Newcastle upon Tyne | Subtle Sensor Photography

Thanks for dropping by!

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

The different levels of texture and color are very appealing. The tree against the bank of cloud makes for an interesting composition. The image has real appeal.

17 Mar 2008 5:15am

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you kindy, the compliment means a lot. I was lucky to have such wonderful clouds acting as a bacdrop to this idylic scene.

pLusOne from Cheonan, South Korea

wow, awesome landscape. The tree, the cloud and the sky are all composed perfect.

17 Mar 2008 5:56am

@pLusOne: Thanks +1, its unusual for me to shoot landscapes at this time of day, I usually wait til sunset but I am really pleased with this image. Glad you like it.

Kleos from Pune, India

I can see why you miss them so much too..
If this is your reward, then pray the sun never sets...

17 Mar 2008 6:58am

@Kleos: Oh no! I can't have that, I LOVE sunsets and sunrises lol! I just wish I wasn't so far north, thats all =D)

Ina from Krugersdorp, South Africa

How awesome is that! Green, white, blue.... perfectly divides the scene. The colors are magnificent and the composition is great. Perfect shot indeed, well done

17 Mar 2008 7:04am

@Ina: Thank you very much Ina =D) I'm glad you like it but I can't take al the credit, that was the way I found it! And the SD10 has a way of rendering blue sky that makes it look as if a polariser was used so I was fortunate to have that camera on me too.

Saeed from Tehran, Iran

Very Nice shot :) I Like It . . .

17 Mar 2008 8:17am

@Saeed: Thankyou Saeed =D)

GJC from Kyoto, Japan

This is very well composed. My compliments. As Michael already said, the layers here are what work so well, and also the different elements -- a diagonal, a horizontal and a wedge. Very well seen!

17 Mar 2008 8:50am

@GJC: Thanks Yakumo!

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Love the different levels of colors! Great composition, very nice shot!

17 Mar 2008 9:29am

@Betty: Me too lol! I'm glad you appreciate the shot.

Ron from Saint Louis, United States

Beautiful summer setting. I'm particularly drawn to scenes with a lone tree…this one really speaks to the introvert in me. Thanks!

17 Mar 2008 10:32am

@Ron: Me too. I love lone trees, there is another one tomorrow, just for you! =D)

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

me too, so much and this is beautiful, thanks :)

17 Mar 2008 10:43am

@Lorraine: You're welcome! I have another one for you tomorrow =D) (sorry Ron, you'll have to share ha ha)

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

Agreed. I have to say that with a place like this photo to look at, I miss summer too.

17 Mar 2008 10:51am

@Viewfinder: Well Spring is definitely here in Newcastle. I can tell because its raining all the time lol!

MadScientist from Düsseldorf, Germany

A perfect summer scene, I love that dense green, looks like a rainforest!

17 Mar 2008 3:30pm

@MadScientist: Yes, it is quite literally a lush green =D)

Hoopand from Tehran, Iran

its nice and lonely...

17 Mar 2008 5:12pm

@Hoopand: The scene does indeed seem quite solitary. But I was enjoying a stroll on a beautiful summers day, in beautiful surroundings and with a beautiful girl for company. so sometimes the camera does lie loll!

axel from edmonton, Canada

here in canada we still have snowy days :(

17 Mar 2008 6:17pm

@axel: Well we're getting Rain in England - haven't seen snow in a long time. Smow is nice... in short periods. Hope the spring warms you up soon =D)

Tracey from Baltimore, United States

I second that thought! And this photo is perfect for evoking that carefree feeling of summer days! Well done.

17 Mar 2008 6:37pm

@Tracey: Thanks, that day was certainly fun and carefree, I'm glad it came across.

I enjoy the tall, thin composition.

27 Mar 2008 1:45am
