Here is another shot taken round the back of the carpark. I believe these structures served as service entrances for the various shops in gateshead Indoor market, which adjoins the carpark and is also being demoloished.

@Saeed: Thank you very much Saeed =D)
i like that gold light.
11 May 2008 4:42am
@pedro alexandre: Thanks Pedro; I've actually reduced the saturation for this picture, the golden sunlight gave too wholesome a feel for what I wanted.
I hope you are feeling better... I love the light in this shot.

@Betty: Not yet but thanks =D) it was a really nice, warm sunset - just the perfect light for making a place like this look good; the dull grey concrete was bathed in honey tones and long shadows.
Facing the sun, a psuedo Inca temple. Great shot of our changing world.

@Observing: An Inca Temple?! You're just showing off now =D)
I want to learn the imagination of Observing! An Inca temple . . oh my . . please let it happen.
11 May 2008 8:23am
@Ronnie 2¢: Ha ha ha! I thought the same thing =D) I guess he is more travelled than we.
Get well soon! Great picture... I often find that the grimy horrible places that no-one likes make really interesting scenes...

@Ben Youd: Thanks Ben. Yes, I was just remarking todat that the regeneration of our quaside area is eating up some wonderfully photogenic industrial dilapidation lol!
Interesting shot, the sky is great.

@Graham Russon: Thanks Graham - the sky gets even better in tomorrow's shot =D)
Love your documentation! Get well soon!

@MadScientist: Thanks, I'm feeling on the up today, hopefully it'll pass. Damn colds, they always get me when its sunny!
Nice shape repetition and combination of warm and cool colors.
11 May 2008 11:25pm
@akarui: Thanks, the colour combination is a trick I learned from landscape photographer Joe Cornish, check out his work, I think you'll like it - he's a master.
Interesting shot with, at least to me, a slightly ominous feel to it. Like the light.
11 May 2008 11:30pm
@GJC: Thanks GJC, thats good to hear - exactly the feel I was going for =D)
Nice shot
12 May 2008 12:27am

nice blend of colors man.

@linus.: Hi Linus, nice to see a new name =D) The colour combination is a trick I learned from landscape photographer Joe Cornish, check out his work if you get a chance.
Great composition. The colors are really beautiful at this time of day.

@Ana Lúcia: Thanks for the compliment. Sunset is my favourite time to shoot - its a lot more predictable than sunrise!
:) ha ha... thanks Ronnie and Dan. Well you gotta be crazy in this world.
12 May 2008 3:08am
@Observing: Well, I imagined these things as droids or daleks slowly dvancing across the frame and leaving nothing but death an destruction... I dread to think what that says about my state of mind lol! But I can see the Inca temple angle now you've mentioned it.
excellent architecture image - great framing, lighting and use of empty space

@yiannis krikis: What a great compliment! Thank you.
Interesting architecture; they look like a collection of boxes and ramps. Nice lighting effect, a very good photo.
12 May 2008 3:02pm
@Viewfinder: I have no idea what the ramps are for. I think perhaps there are stairs going down once you get through the doors. but then there's the 'upper level' with a single door of its own, hardly any use for loading goods. its a mystery to me but I kind of like it that way.
nice shot! especially like the composition and tones, what sticks out to me about it also is the contrast between the warmth of the sunlight on the building in the foreground and how cold it looks in the background
12 May 2008 5:45pm
@danthro: Yeah, the light was just perfect for this shot - and that was planning, not just luck... honest! =D)
cool framing and interesting shot.
12 May 2008 6:53pm
@pLusOne: Thanks +1 =D)
I like the colors and repetitious shapes.
12 May 2008 10:11pm
It's really the light that totally makes this shot! Brings out the nuances of the architecture. And as yiannis stated, you've really used the negative space well. Really deserves a Bravo!! Hope your 'flu doesn't last long... ;-)

Alien robots! Great shot really.
