As an apology for my absence I have decided to do a small 'in the style of...' tribute series to my favourite Aminus3 bloggers.
I haven't asked permission to do this so I hope I do not offend with these humble offerings.
This shot is a very poor attempt at the style of Rhys. Rhys is master of the minimal, his shots are uncompromising, stark and strangely beautiful. His processing is similarly professional as even a short look through his portfolio will show.
My image was inspired by this shot; you will often see Rhys make art out of the rubbish people discard on South Gare, although mine clearly pales in comparison. The inset is a poor attempt to tise to this level.
He does get much more minimal though!
I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms. I am here to learn. the fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)
If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!
Dan

I am touched and flattered! Really, I am. Thanks, I'm kind of lost for words. wow.

@Rhys: Don't get all embarrassed lol! I admire the consistensy in your style; marking the work with your own perspective and character. I aspire to produce work like that someday (soon lol!) and just wanted to show my appreciation.
very nice and bright! well done :)

@Saeed: Thanks Saeed, =D)
another cool shot and I like the mood of this shot. the way how the glove look makes me feel something lonely and moody.
And thanks again for yesterday's tribute shot.

@pLusOne: You're welcome (again), thanks for the compliment, that was the mood I wanted to create =D)
This is a great idea Dan, and in this presentation I can see the similarity. Good concept, great work.

@Observing: Thank you! =D)
This is a great work, and thank you so much for introducing me to Rhy's work.

@Graham Russon: Thanks for the compliment and I'm glad to have converted another Rhys fan! =D)
Excellent work! I like those two shots, they are entirely different scenes but have similar tones!

@Vikram: Thanks - I think the matching tones are a result of trying to match Rhys PP, it was not actually intentional!
Very well done!

@Betty: Thanks!
Very good shot.

@Alun Lambert: Cheers =D)
I really like the colors here.

@Dylan: These muted tones are not my usual style (obviously, given the series) but I'm glad they have turned out to everyone's liking!
very cool processing, color and light

@danthro: Thanks =D) I know Rhys processses his images in LAB mode but I haven't learned how to do that yet and was just trying to mimic the end result.
This is a fantastic series. Really love the idea of the tribute.

@Shrig: Thanks!
VERY cool!! I really like how you combined these two images. The colours in them are perfectly complementary. Excellent!!

@amy: Thanks Amy (although it was not a conscious decision so I can't really take credit!) =D)
