As an apology for my absence I have decided to do a small 'in the style of...' tribute series to my favourite Aminus3 bloggers.
I haven't asked permission to do this so I hope I do not offend with these humble offerings.
This first shot is in the style of (though never as good as) pLusOne, who always seems to find and, most importantly, communicate beauty in the smallest, most everyday things. This image from his portfolio section is one of my favourites. If you haven't visited his blog yet, I reccommend it; in my opinion it is an education in seeing.
I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms. I am here to learn. the fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)
If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!

That's a very cool thing to do Dan, unique and thoughtful.

@Observing: I've been away from the blog for a few days and I had been thinking about this project for a while so it provided a good excuse to motivate myself to get posting again!
I love this idea! Very thoughtful.

@Betty: Thanks! x
Very touching and a great idea. I often find myself out with my camera and see something and think "that would be a perfect shot for X blogger on Aminus3." I think we all find inspiration in each other's work even when (especially when) it's not really our own style. But this "tribute" series is making that inspiration upfront, and for that I salute you and I think it's a great idea. I agree with you that PlusOne is always able to find little stray bits of things where we'd overlook them, to find amidst the detritus of the everyday some little, tiny unnoticed something and bring it "out" in a photo. Well done in doing the same thing here. I'm looking forward to further installments.

@GJC: Thanks for such a considered (and flattering) comment GJC. =D)
This is a wonderful tribute to PlusOne, I did a double take when I saw the shot, as I thought it was his. Great stuff.

Greet link to +1! And a well done tribute to him! Technical question: did you use a tilt/shift lense here?
2 May 2008 6:07pm
@MadScientist: Thanks =D) No, I did not use a tilt lens it was a sigma Macro lens (either my 50mm or 105mm I can't remember, I think it was the 50 though - 2.8).
Nice isolation. Very sharp too.
