Moving Through - 3

Posted by drphoto (Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom) on 18 April 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

My housemate is a photography student and has recently been given an HDR brief to shoot 'spaces through which we move'; spaces which are never a destination and are essentially forgotten, overlooked.

This brief really captured my imagination and I've been looking for a good reason to try out some HDR programs anyway =D) So I thought I'd try a few for myself.

This is another 'dead space' found at the end of a different pedestrian bridge which coonnects a business park and multistory car park with the city center (forming a beautiful arch over the central motorway).

I pass through here often on my way to work and noticed one night how the rain had left this mirror surface. I got up ealy the following day hoping there would be no wind and got lucky. Most of the buildings tou see are disused - this area of the city is ripe for regeneration.

This was made using Photoshops automate function. I am trying to develop a technique of producing HDR's that are not obviously HDR - as in, they do not look 'hyper-real' the way I process my landscapes... So I apologise if this loks a little bland at the moment.

I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms.
I am here to learn. The fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)

If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!
