This shot was taken in Scotland, I just loved the texture of these rocks and the early morning sky really helped make this scene look other-worldly.
I've spent most of last month working on images to put on my (currently under construction) website. Most of them I won't be posting here but landscape photography is the area I'm most interested in getting into so I figured, why not put them out there (or on here)!
I am 80-90% satisfied with these images; I like to photograph wild places and dramtic landscapes but I'm not sure if my processing seems a little... amature. So please be as harsh as you can regarding post processing as well as composition, lighting, subject matter etc: I'm looking to improve!
I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms. I am here to learn. the fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)
If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!

@Lorraine: Thats the way I like to do it - its how I see it in my head. Thanks.

@Vikram: Thanks!
No moaning and groaning, sorry! Just a great primeval landscape!

@MadScientist: Thanks! Try harder next time lol!
Ahhh ! The rough texture of the rocks are really amazing and u've captured it good , and in contrast .. there is a Gentleness in the sky ! Nice juxtaposition
However if i were around that place i would also try to capture a seascape/landscape snap of the waves/water hitting those rocks (a little exposure ). Just an opinion ! :) rocks . Maybe longer exposures to enhance the shapening of the rocks by the water..

@chakrapani: Thanks! I know what you mean, it would have been nice to capture the water crashing against the rocks but it was a fairly calm day. I would have liked to use a longer exposeure to get more detail from the rocks and smooth the water out some more but, alas! I didn't have my tripod!
A beauty. Fantastic sky and foreground elements. Looking forward to the website...

@danthro: Thanks!
If you are looking for added drama in those sea- and landscapes, one of the HDR programs is worth exploring because it will enable you to maximise the extremes. Try not to over-do the process, though, as it easily looks false and self-defeats.

@Ronnie 2¢: Hi Ronnie, I've just recently started experimenting with HDR programs, they're suddenly very popular. So far I find it too easy to go overboard and their tonemapping effects seem rather aggressive.
I've been doing HDR manually for ages though. Most of these landscapes are two different conversions of the same RAW file manually blended in PS to get the best of the dynamic range. And, of course, the Fuji S3 does HDR in camera - one set of pixels has a 2stop ND filter so you can always retain the highlights while the other sensors act in the same way as a standard bayer chip.
Wow, what a marvelous shot. Composition, lighting and textures are just great. May be a tinge too much red in the foreground, but could also be my monitor at home. Perhaps you could have put a solid white border around the picture, to bring out the depth and colours. I particularly like the colours of the sky. Great work.

@Graham Russon: Hey, thanks for the comment. I like the idea of the white border (especially as my website is also going to be predominantly black - hence more eco friendly) I will have a look at including a white border in the template. Unfortunately I do not yet have any colour profile management equipment so it may well be that there is too much red in the foreground...
Just awesome, it's to pretty to look for improvement, I like it just the way it is :))

@Ina: Thanks!
I do love that sky... but I think the balance is off with too much rock in the foreground. For me instead of my eye being lead to the sunset it keeps going to the rocks on the left.

@amy: Well now, I don't mind that, the rock was meant to be the focal point... although if it creates an unbalanced feel that is no good...
a little bit much rock in the foreground but i like the rock texture and the sky colours in the background...

@DarkElf: Thanks for your input oh dark, elfish one =D)
This is really good work. I too like the textures in the rock. Nice depth also.

@Gary: Thanks Gary.
The craggy rocks are wonderful, as was suggested by Chakrapani, a little more sea would be nice. Either way I think it's a marvolous shot.

@MaryB: Thanks =D) Ideally I would have liked to replace that dark mass of land on the horizon with a nice, silver sea but I couldn't find a way to do that and incorporate all those beautiful colours in the sky!
The textures of those rocks are crazy! (in a good way...) I've never seen anything like that before! Nice capture!

@Melissa W.: Thanks! I thought they were crazy too =D) A good subject to photograph though! I'm glad you like it.
