I have been a bit lax regarding posting and commenting of late. I'm afraid today will be no different. I shall have to play catch up over easter!
Here are some nude shots photographed in the studio against the scoop (and hence very white). Let me know what you think.
I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms. I am here to learn. the fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)
If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!

A bit too stark for my taste. I think we are too used to the glamorous nude. I prefer yesterdays shot.

@Michael Skorulski: Oh! I'm surprised, I thought this one would have been more popular because, to me, it is more than just a pretty picture - it is emotional, speaking of the isolation of man and the vulnerability of nudity. oh well, nevermind.
I see this as a sheet of headed notepaper . . not sure what I’d write, though! Great piece of impact design and I like it for that alone.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks, I appreciate that. My advice: don't use that paper to write a love letter =D)
Well the shot it self is perfect and a good light work, however the model looks a bit tens.

@Babak: Thanks Babak, I asked the model to tense up - it adds muscle definition and also helps comminicate the emotion of isolation that was trying to convey.
though it's a different kettle of fish, but I think something is wrong for this shot! i like previous one!:)

@Vida: If you can figure out what you think is wrong I'd be interested to know Vida =D)
I do prefer the one you posted yesterday, this one is good, but there's way too much white at the base of the shot, and nothing to lead your eye in!

@DaveB: Thanks for your input Dave but that was kind of the point with this one! I wanted to portray isolation and vulnerability, not just make a pretty picture. I decided not to title these to see if people would pick up on the message. Apparrently not =D(
This is great work, works very well on the white background. Just wondering folks, would it be possible to have a "what you look like day", lets say this Thursday 27th March, we could all post a photo of ourselves so we can see what we all look like, so we can put a face to a name. Let me know what you think.

@Peter Miller: Thanks - I'm glad you like it! =D)
wow, simple but looks like a real poster

@pLusOne: Thanks!!
I'm okay with this shot, actually. Maybe I would have placed the model at the bottom and maybe tried a shot with her facing the lens with the same pose....
...I like this one, not as much as yesterday's though.

@Addey Kehinde: I didn't think of having her face the camera in this pose... good idea! Thanks fr commenting.
Hmph, I say to all those nay sayers!! Bloody brilliant, is my response!! Made me sit up and say WOW as it loaded (and I've got dial-up so it was a bit of a wait... LOL). Comparing it to yesterday's is apples and oranges; different moods, different aspect... just that they're both fruit.. well, nudes.

@amy: Thank you! Finally someone who gets it! I was beginning to think I had completely failed with this shot. Your comment really cheered me up, thanks =D)
A different shot, but none the less brilliant. This would make a wonderful poster, and I like the abstract feel with all the "empty " space below the model. The only thing I found distracting is the placement and size of the watermark.
22 Mar 2008 4:02pm
@Graham Russon: Yeah, sorry about the watermark. That was me valuing my work so high that I was afraid people would steal it lol!
Hey Dan..two superb studies,pal...liked the eyes on the last shot, however I prefer the isolation on this image.. Billy...

@bronzebilly u.k.: Yay! Somebody who got the 'isolation'! Thank god for that =D) This is my favourite of the two, I'm glad you like it.
