Night Safe

You may recall me saying I was away from home for a week or so mid feb. i was visiting friends in Edingburgh and Dublin. I had hoped to get some nice shots of these placed while I was there (as this was my first time visiting) but unfortunately, foggy weather followed me to both places =D(

No prizes for guessing where this one was taken. The was no fog in Dublin but the bland, flat, ger light was really only suitable for detail shots. I was surprised at how the gold colour still semmed really vivid under such lighting conditions and couldn't help taking a few shots.

I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms.
I am here to learn. The fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)

Ii've always thought of Ireland as Green, but I have to say Gold looks really good on it :)

@pLusOne: Thanks, I didn't want to just take a record shot, hence the depth of field, but the colour is pretty much as seen.

Street details like this are always worth a try whatever the weather. This one proves the point : it has a kinda liquid look to it . . unlike, perhaps, the bank’s finances!

@Dylan Tucker: Yeah, it was right by a busy road so there are reflections of traffic lights and brake lights. I took some more images of this where it shoes up better.

@Graham Russon: Thanks, it was the colour that attracted me - I'm such a magpie lol! (In case you don't know, we in Newcastle are referred to as magpies because, much like the birds feathers, our football [soccer?] tram wears black and white stripes).

I actually scampered back to see what I had missed over the long weekend.. and guess what? I struck gold!! :p

Besides, I am equally surprised to see the gold glint despite the foggy weather! What is that they say about true light shining?
