Okay, I've posted this one because I need some help with it. when I took this shot there was a bland, grey sky which ended up overexposed. Rather than take the 6.5 hour motorbike ride back there I thought I would drop in a Sunset I took from Holy Island. I can usually do this quite seamlessly but with this shot I'm having trouble; it looks really fake and over processed.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can make this look more natural please comment. Thanks!
Dan
I welcome all constructive comments, compliments and criticisms. I am here to learn. the fastest way for me to learn is for you to be really unforgiving and articulate in your criticism =D)
If you don't have time to comment don't forget to give a star rating as you pass through!
P.S. You can find my fashion and portrait work here: http://www.modelmayhem.com/drphotographer
it's beautifully done.. :) but still, if you are not happy with the results, what you can try is hiding the sun and decreasing the sunlight on the rocks..that may help..
:)

@rain girl: Thanks for the comment - and the advice =D)
I think the levels might be too even throughout the shot. I think if the rocks int eh foreground were a bit darker it may look more realistic.

@Dylan: thanks Dylan, you were right about the rocks and the levels too. I think the sky is too flat but it was taken with a strong warm up filter that also reduced a lot of the luminosity. I may have to pick a different sky for this shot...
I don't care how unreal it looks: IT'S FABULOUS! An artistic vision...don't underestimate the poet or artist in you :)

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine. I spent ages trying to get this to look realistic but to no avail. I didn't even consider that it might be viewed as a pleasing image nontheless - means a lot =D)
Really nice frame, well done.

@Viewfinder: Thanks VF but I still have this nagging desire to make it look more realistic grrr!

Amazing! HDR image?

@Josh: Not quite but it could be concieved that way. I did take one shot for the foreground and one shot for the sky and then combine them for a grreater tonal range.... its just that each shot was taken in a different location. While the 'landscape' is from Elgin, the skyscape is from Holy Island...
Stunning! I love the different textures, the colors, compo, processing... it's all awesome!

Magnificent weird shot!!!Beautiful combination! And I should say that I can see a witch face on top of the rock on the left side looking to the sunset! Can you see it?!

@shahab: Ha ha! Yes! I've not noticed that before =D)
This is a weird shot because I didn't quite get the post processing right so it doesn't look real. The new improved shot will be up in two days time...
